Finding the perfect solution isn’t easy – it takes hard work.

Our team of experts have diligently conducted research, analysis, and comparisons of a whole range of investment products, examining decades of data.

We looked for solutions modelled on the world’s best-managed funds, such as:

  • Yale Endowment Fund
  • Bridgewater Associates
  • Medallion Fund (Renaissance Tech)
  • Future Fund (Australian Government)

In addition, we coupled this with detailed research into the work of game-changing investors, Ray Dalio, David Swensen and James Simons, regarded as the greatest investors of all time.

Our Findings

All of these great sources of knowledge and strategic investment philosophy have one thing in common - they invest in illiquid assets and/or sophisticated strategies which produce more stable, consistent and less volatile returns.

Amongst the funds analysed in our research, we found that the Australian Government’s own ‘Sovereign Wealth Fund’ is applying the very same investment strategy – investing in illiquid assets to create stable long-term returns.

However, this is a ‘closed fund’, not offered to the public. Instead, the Australian workforce is only offered the 161 super-funds predominantly investing in the volatile equities (stock) market.

Time to make a change

The world is a very different place compared to the 1980s when the superannuation industry was first established.

Today’s investing strategies have largely become outdated, having not adapted over the past few decades.

With numerous super funds in the market, plus a lack of clarity and transparency throughout the industry, deciding what’s best and figuring out how to get the most out of your super can be quite a daunting task.
